My Return to the Poetics of the Unnamable

Constructed from a newly devised syllabary comprising 50 distinct and intuitively selected graphemes, this poem serves as an exploration of the interpretive spirit of place when synthesized through artist (the Conduit) as surveyor, lens, and editor. The rudiments of this linguistic framework were selected by the Conduit in collaboration with the Spirit of Place, as dictated through the crossing and uncrossing of divining rods held in the hands of the Conduit while traversing the landscape. The Conduit intuitively selected each grapheme as dictated by the spirit of place and arranged a poetic iteration of this novel syllabary. As asserted by philosopher Jacques Derrida in his 1967 book “Of Grammatology,” “there is no outside-text.”
